AL!VE Girls Programs!

Science AL!VE offers a variety of girls only programs including a year-round girls club, two weeks of girls only camp, and Girls Sleepovers! Science AL!VE offers girls-only programs as part of its ongoing mandate to increase female interest and participation in the fields of Science and Technology. Presently, females are under-represented in the Science and Technology workforce, as well as in Science AL!VE’s summer camp programs. Our science programs for girls is an effort to provide girls with positive role models and hands-on experience, as well as confidence and inspiration in Science and Technology.

AL!VE Girls Science Clubs

AL!VE Girls is Science AL!VE’s science, engineering and technology club for girls! And we have some every exciting news, we are expanding our AL!VE Girls Club! Now girls in grades 2 through 7 are able to join and we are increasing the number of meetings! Science AL!VE will be having TWO AL!VE Girls Clubs; AL!VE Girls Junior for grades 2 through 4 and AL!VE Girls Senior for grades 5 through 7. Participants from both the AL!VE Girls clubs will meet at the same time and locations. They will participate in dynamic labs and activities specialized for their respective age groups, as well as have large joint projects all together!

AL!VE Girls meets bi-weekly on Saturdays. Members will join Science AL!VE female instructors for activities or presentations from female scientists in the SFU science labs and campus facilities, or for science-related field trips throughout the lower mainland. The focus of the meetings will be on exploration of the fascinating world of Science, Engineering and Technology through hands-on activities, take-home projects and presentations given by enthusiastic female scientists.
