AL!VE Girls Clubs - Registration for FALL 2017 will open at 11am today!

AL!VE Girls is Science AL!VE’s biweekly science, engineering and technology club for girls in grades 1 - 7! Club members join Science AL!VE female instructors for activities or presentations from female scientists in the SFU science labs and campus facilities, or for science-related field trips throughout the lower mainland. The focus of the meetings is exploration of the fascinating world of Science, Engineering and Technology through hands-on activities, take-home projects and presentations given by enthusiastic female scientists.

How old do I need to be to join?

We have three streams based on grade attending in the 2017/18 school year: Mini Scientists (Grades 1-2), Junior Scientists (Grades 3-4), and Senior Scientists (Grades 5-7).Participants from all the AL!VE Girls clubs will meet at the same time and locations (in separate classrooms), and will participate in activities specialized for their respective age groups!

When are the meetings? 2016/2017 Program dates/times

 Meetings are held every second Saturday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Fall 2017 Session

  • September 9, September 23, October 21, November 4, November 18, December 2, December 16
  • Please note there will be no session on October 7 due to Thanksgiving

Where are the meetings held? 

Most meetings (except field trips) are held at Simon Fraser University (Burnaby campus) in South East Classroom Block.

How much does the club cost?

  • Fall 2017 = $84 ($12/session)

Please note: registration fees do not cover any additional costs for field trips.
